Outside Fun

These cool mornings have been so pleasant - and we have taken a few moments outside to enjoy it. These flowers in front of our house were planted by the previous owners - and we are enjoying them. It is so sweet watching Karis pick and gather flowers to her heart's content - and then bring them in to be put in a vase.

Joshua was trying to drop the ball and then swing the bat to hit it...only his timing is a little off. See? The ball is in perfect position - only the bat is behind his body!

The kids call this the bus. It is a ride on toy Craig's parent's gave to Joshua - Charlotte and Karis especially like to ride down the hill of our driveway together.

Joshua is 4!

What a joy celebrating with a 4 year old boy! A few days ago Joshua turned 4 and we celebrated with the tradition of breakfast out on your birthday. Joshua is crazy about Dunkin Donuts, so we took him to get one on his birthday.

Happy Birthday my favorite little boy!

First Day of School

Today we started school for another year! Karis started 1st grade and we celebrated the occasion with pancakes. Who knew I could make pancakes into letters?

Joshua had a J pancake. What a goof!

Charlotte had regular circle pancakes - she doesn't know the difference!

Karis and the teacher on her first day of school - gotta have that for memories sake!

And Karis with the principle - a.k.a. Daddy!

Karis did so well today. She was excited and is still very eager to learn. The other children did wonderfully too! I am so thankful. I was concerned about how Charlotte would do since she is into everything now...but in our new home the playroom/school room is perfect for us! She and Joshua played together and side by side the whole time and I sat down and played with her when Karis was busy with some of her work.

Tomorrow might be a different day. I might be anxious, the kids might not do well, but...there will be grace for tomorrow when tomorrow comes.

This morning I read "The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and they are kept safe." This strengthened me as I thought ahead on this school year. I am running to the Lord!
